About the “Fill the Pig, Feel Better” Campaign

Our Partnership: Meridian Credit Union & Pathstone Foundation have teamed up for a second consecutive year of Fill the Pig, Feel Better, a community inspired and led effort.

Our Mission:  To highlight the importance of philanthropy at any age and to get our community to come together in support of a stronger and more mentally well Niagara.

Funds raised: Go directly to our Walk-In Clinics, which provide immediate, face-to-face, direct counselling with a Pathstone clinician at any of our eight locations across Niagara. “Fill the Pig, Feel Better” donations will also support our Crisis Hotline, offering one-on-one counselling over the phone 24/7, 365 days a year.

Whether you are adopting a pig and asking friends, family, teammates and co-workers to support the cause or are making a donation to our virtual pig online,

KNOW, that;

    • YOU are improving the quality of life of children, youth and their families in Niagara.
    • ALL funds raised stay in our community.
    • YOU are inspiring others to be philanthropic, just like you!
    • YOU are supporting one of the most important and prevalent health issues in North America.


FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

A. The Fill the Pig, Feel Better campaign starts pre-adoption on Saturday, Jan 18th at the Niagara Ice Dogs Game, and in all Meridian Credit Union locations on Monday, February 3rd, and at the Pen Centre on Tuesday, February 4th. The campaign ends on Friday, February 28th with pigs to be returned through the first week of March to ANY Meridian branch in Niagara.

A. Visit ANY Meridian Credit Union across Niagara, or sign up for our Paint the Pig Night at the Pen Centre, Tuesday, February 4th – it’s FREE to register, visit www. XXXX Eventbrite link, *Donation of $25 to “Paint the Pig” will be collected on-site, or come to our kick off Pre- Adoption Ice Dogs Game on Saturday, January 18th at the Meridian Centre.

A. Yes! Visit our online donation form at the top/ bottom of this to make a donation to our virtual pig. You will also receive a charitable tax receipt via email.  https://www.pathstonefoundation.ca/fillthepig/

A. Tell friends, family, co-workers and teammates about the “Fill the Pig, Feel Better Campaign and ask them to donate in support of Pathstone Mental Health’s Walk- In Clinics and Crisis Hotline.  Tell them for every FILLED piggy bank, it equals approximately 3 one-on-one sessions for a child in need of mental health counselling.

A. All donations stay in Niagara and will support Pathstone’s Walk-in Clinics (8 locations across Niagara) as well as the Crisis Hotline, operating 24/7 365 days per week by calling 1-800-263- 4944

A. Return your “stuffed” pig to ANY Meridian Credit Union locations- it doesn’t have the be the one you adopted it from.

A. Receipts are not issued when you put cash into the piggy bank, but if you put a cheque in one, you will be receipted, provided your full mailing address is on your cheque. You can also donation online and get an e-receipt. Cheques can also be mailed to Pathstone Foundation: 1338 Fourth Ave. St. Catharines, ON, L2S 0G1 or call our Foundation at 905-688-6850 x 167.
